What Was Discussed Between Aoun and Macron?
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace ahead of the preparatory meeting for the Jordan Initiative support conference for the Lebanese army and security forces, discussing efforts to halt Israeli attacks amid ongoing Lebanese-American-Israeli negotiations and the framework agreement.

A meeting was held between Presidents Joseph Aoun and Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace ahead of the preparatory meeting for the Jordan Initiative support conference for the Lebanese army and security forces, discussing efforts to halt Israeli attacks in light of ongoing Lebanese-American-Israeli negotiations and the framework agreement.
President Aoun thanked his French counterpart for France's support to Lebanon, his personal follow-up on its situation, and his commitment to strengthening state authority and sovereignty and supporting official institutions, security, and military structures.
Lebanese President also commended the initiative launched by the French president together with the Italian Prime Minister regarding the post-UNIFIL phase.
It was agreed to continue communication and enhance cooperation across various fields, particularly in the economic and energy sectors, and to resume oil and gas exploration in Lebanese blocks.
