EU Reaffirms Military Support in Meeting with Lebanese Army Chief
Lebanese Army Commander General Joseph Aoun met with EU Ambassador Sandra De Waele to discuss support for the military.

European Union Ambassador Sandra De Waele, accompanied by a delegation from the European External Action Service (EEAS) led by Gilles Roustan, head of the strategic planning division for crisis management in the Middle East and North Africa, met with Lebanese Army Commander General Joseph Aoun at his office in Yarze. The discussions centered on regional and local developments, as well as avenues for bolstering the Lebanese military.
During the meeting, De Waele affirmed the EU's continued backing of the army, praising its "pivotal role in ensuring security and stability in Lebanon."
In turn, General Aoun expressed appreciation for the EU's solidarity with Lebanon and its armed forces "amid the current circumstances."
