Environmental Scandal in the Bekaa: Polluted Industrial Water Dumped Directly into the Lifeline
The National Litani River Authority has revealed that an industrial stone facility in the Marj area, owned by Omar Saleh, is discharging its polluted industrial water directly into the Bardouni River, in a serious violation of environmental and water laws.
As part of its duties in protecting water resources and combating sources of pollution, the National Litani River Authority revealed that one of the industrial facilities operating in the stone industry in the Marj area, owned by (Omar Saleh), is discharging its polluted industrial water directly into the Bardouni River, in a grave violation of the provisions of the applicable environmental and water laws.
The Authority contacted the Bekaa Investigation Bureau in the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces, which, based on the指示 of the competent judiciary and in coordination with the Authority, conducted the necessary field investigations to document the violation and determine responsibilities.
The Authority confirms that what happened constitutes a direct assault on water resources, public health, and the agricultural environment, and threatens the safety of the rivers that form an essential lifeline in the Bekaa.
Accordingly, the Authority requests from the competent judicial, security, and administrative authorities to take immediate legal measures, foremost among which is the immediate closure of the violating facility until the causes of pollution are removed and full compliance with environmental and legal standards is achieved.
