An expanded ministerial meeting was held chaired by Prime Minister Judge Dr. Nawaf Salam at the Grand Serail in the presence of a large number of ministers, where Salam asked each minister to present his ministry's affairs and ways to activate coordination with other ministries.
Minister of Information Attorney Dr. Paul Marqous noted that Defense Minister Brigadier General Michel Mansour presented the continuation of raids in the south and the situation on the Lebanese-Syrian border. Interior and Municipalities Minister Brigadier General Ahmad al-Hajjar also presented security developments. Prime Minister Salam instructed all security agencies on the need to maintain proper dealings with all citizens with full respect in implementing the law equally among citizens. Economy Minister Dr. Amer al-Bissat also presented measures to combat price gouging, fraud, monopoly and smuggling, emphasizing the necessity of raising fines — which requires a legislative amendment — and activating cooperation with the judiciary.
