Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz affirmed that his country has no ambitions for expansion within Lebanese territories, stressing that operations in Lebanon are defensive and Israel will not allow Hezbollah to implement its plans.

Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz affirmed today, Tuesday, that his country has no ambitions for expansion within Lebanese territories.
According to Hebrew media, Katz stressed that Israel will not allow “Hezbollah” to implement its plans, and that the ongoing operations in Lebanon fall within a "defensive" framework.
In the same context, Israeli radio had reported from a political source that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed a number of his cabinet members that "there is nothing more that can be done" in Lebanon, in reference to the restrictions imposed on military movement there, adding that this approach aligns with current American trends.
Israeli Channel 12 also reported that Netanyahu made a phone call with US President Donald Trump, during which he discussed the field developments on the Lebanese front.
According to the report, Netanyahu warned during the call that the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon is "fragile," pointing out that Hezbollah seeks to derail the talks between Beirut and Tel Aviv.
He added that not responding to the party's movements could lead to further escalation and jeopardize de-escalation.
The report indicated that Trump showed understanding for the Israeli position but stressed the necessity for any military response to be "calculated and limited" to avoid expanding the confrontation in the region.
