Humanitarian conditions in Lebanon and ways to bolster cooperation in relief and emergency response were the focus of a meeting between Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib. The talks, held at the Grand Serail, also included Minister of Social Affairs Haneen al-Sayyed and Zahi Shahin, head of the government's Disaster Risk Management Unit.

Lahbib affirmed the European Union's continued support for Lebanon, particularly in the realm of humanitarian assistance, and stressed the importance of sustained coordination with relevant Lebanese authorities. The discussions took place against the backdrop of ongoing Israeli aggression and its humanitarian fallout.

Salam, for his part, expressed gratitude for the EU's unwavering backing of Lebanon. He praised the existing coordination with the concerned parties and underscored the need to strengthen international support for humanitarian response efforts and for bolstering the Lebanese state as it confronts current challenges.
