Makhzoumi: Lebanon will only be governed by the logic of the state.. and we have an opportunity to restore sovereignty

MP Fouad Makhzoumi met with Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Alaa Moussa, and they discussed the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.

Makhzoumi wrote on the "X" platform: "During the meeting, I affirmed the deep historical ties between Lebanon and Egypt, and the importance of strengthening bilateral partnership and expanding areas of cooperation, in a way that contributes to supporting Lebanon and restoring its stability and Arab role. I thanked Egypt for standing by Lebanon and its people during this delicate phase, appreciating its active role in diplomatic efforts aimed at consolidating stability and preventing a slide towards further escalation."

Makhzoumi reiterated his affirmation of "support for the President of the Republic and the government at this critical national moment," stressing that "Lebanon will only be governed by the logic of the state and its legitimate institutions, especially since Lebanon has an opportunity to re-establish its full sovereignty, and what is required today are practical steps that return national decision-making to the fold of the state, in a way that ensures stability and enhances Arab and international confidence in Lebanon."
