The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, greeted workers on their holiday, commending their daily efforts and continuous sacrifices for building the nation and preserving its dignity.
On this occasion, he said: "Our nation has gone through, and continues to go through, harsh and exceptional circumstances that have burdened every citizen, and workers have borne the brunt of this suffering. I fully understand the magnitude of the challenges you face, from the hardships of life to the fluctuations in economic conditions, and the pressures that successive crises have left on your daily lives. Despite this, you have shown rare resilience and determination to work and produce, and you have been, and continue to be, the primary pillar upon which Lebanon's economy stands."
President Aoun added: "We have worked, in cooperation with the government, to launch a reform path aimed at reviving the economic situation and achieving stability, before the recent war swept the country and made matters more complicated. Nevertheless, our will has not and will not be broken, and we are proceeding with all possible efforts to rebuild what has been destroyed, restore trust, and create job opportunities worthy of the dignity of the Lebanese." The President of the Republic concluded: "I affirm my commitment, along with the government, to continue working to improve the conditions of workers, by supporting their rights, strengthening social protection, and ensuring a fair working environment that preserves their dignity and rewards their efforts. For you are the backbone of the Lebanese economy, and by you the nation rises, and without you, no reform plan can succeed or endure."
