Syrian singer Asalah is preparing to return to Damascus for a highly anticipated concert on 17 September 2026 at Al-Fayhaa Hall, ending a near-15-year absence from live performances in Syria. The event is sponsored by the Syrian Ministry of Culture.

Asalah recently recorded a new couplet for her song “Asalah”, which she released earlier this year under the production of her daughter Sham Al-Dhahabi. Sham confirmed that the newly recorded segment was conceived and prepared expressly for the Damascus concert, establishing a direct artistic link between the music and the performance.

Sham explained that the creative team is currently finalizing the recording of this new part of the song. She noted the idea emerged concurrently with the announcement of Asalah’s return to Syria after years of absence. Describing her emotional response, Sham said the lyrics and melody deeply affected her, evoking strong feelings tied to Asalah’s return to Damascus — known locally as “Al-Sham”.

This latest release forms part of Sham Al-Dhahabi’s broader involvement in artistic production, including her work behind the scenes on her mother’s projects. While Sham stated she generally avoids extensive public commentary on her production activities, she expressed satisfaction with the outcomes achieved during this period.

Organizers reported exceptionally high demand for tickets to the concert, with several seating categories nearing sell-out. Electronic reservations through the “Evento” application have surged, generating noticeable system pressure as Syrian audiences rush to secure attendance.

The concert — titled “The Return of Asalah” — will feature a selection of her most prominent songs alongside undisclosed artistic surprises currently being finalized in parallel with the event’s concluding preparations.
