Christina Applegate Posts New Look, Mentions Unidentified Facial Spot

On September 21, Christina Applegate posted an Instagram video featuring her freshly colored blonde hair, wearing jeans and a black zip-up hoodie.

The clip captured a noticeable spot on her cheek as she turned to the side. A follow-up Instagram Story provided a closer view of the area, according to E! News.

In the caption, Applegate wrote: “Fresh hair color, new weird spot on my cheek haha.” She credited stylist Dave Stanwell, adding, “Thank you @davestanwell for brightening up my cloudy day. Love you and love to you all out there.”

Applegate has not disclosed the origin of the mark. She has not linked it to multiple sclerosis or any other diagnosed medical condition.

The actress announced her multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 2021. In her memoir, You With the Sad Eyes, she detailed physical effects of the condition.

“When I wake up, I often can’t get my arm to move far enough to grab the cup of water by my bed or my phone from its charger.”

She also wrote: “One of the worst side effects of the illness is the exhaustion. It feels as though I’ve been on a three-day-long sleepless bender.”

At her 2022 Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, Applegate used humor to address her health, saying: “Oh, by the way, I have a disease. Did you not notice? I’m not even wearing shoes.”
