Emily Simpson Bitten by Capybara During RHOC Tokyo Visit
Real Housewives of Orange County star Emily Simpson was bitten by a capybara at Cafe Capyba during the show's Season 20 trip to Tokyo.

A sudden animal encounter disrupted the Real Housewives of Orange County cast’s recent excursion to Tokyo, resulting in a bite for Emily Simpson. The reality television personality visited a local capybara cafe with her co-stars, anticipating a pleasant interaction with the animals. Instead, one curious rodent unexpectedly nipped her leg.
The Incident at Cafe Capyba
Bravo reported that Simpson attended Cafe Capyba alongside Tamra Judge and Jennifer Pedranti as part of the Season 20 itinerary. She eagerly proposed purchasing vegetables to feed the creatures. Upon observing the animals directly, she remarked, “I had no idea how big they are in person.”
Simpson was seated on a couch drinking tea when a capybara approached her. The animal abruptly nibbled at her leg, causing her to shout in surprise. She subsequently recounted the event to the other women while dining.
“I’m checking to make sure it doesn’t get infected,” Simpson stated regarding the injury. The group inspected the visible marks left on her skin. This episode became a notable highlight of the RHOC Tokyo journey.
Cast Reactions and Humor
Judge and Pedranti voiced immediate alarm following the bite. “What happened?!” Judge asked, while Pedranti inquired, “What did you do?” These responses highlighted the initial concern among the cast members regarding Simpson’s condition.
After confirming Simpson appeared unharmed, Gina Kirschenheiter injected levity into the situation. She joked that Simpson might experience an unusual transformation due to the bite. “I’m legit frightened that this is like a Spiderman situation. Or like a werewolf, you know?” Kirschenheiter told producers.
Kirschenheiter continued to speculate on bizarre outcomes from the incident. “I’m actually frightened that I’m going to wake up and I’m going to find this giant capybara living with me,” she quipped. Her remarks turned the mishap into another entertaining moment for the cast.
After Show Discussion and Trip Highlights
During the Real Housewives of Orange County After Show, Simpson addressed the animals again. Kirschenheiter reminded her, “It’s a rodent,” to which Simpson replied, “I like rodents.” She also made light-hearted comments about the creatures' size and habits.
Despite the bite, the Japan trip provided numerous other memorable experiences. Simpson particularly enjoyed go-karting through Tokyo’s streets. The cast also explored temples, sampled Japanese cuisine, and navigated various chaotic moments during their stay.
