Gypsy Rose Blanchard has accused Autumn Urker, sister of her late partner Ken Urker, of exploiting his death and tarnishing his memory.
Ken Urker was found dead at his Louisiana home on October 1, with authorities suspecting an apparent drug overdose. Gypsy Rose Blanchard has since accused Urker’s sister, Autumn, of tarnishing his memory by speaking publicly about him after his passing.
Blanchard, who gained public attention following the 2015 murder of her abusive mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, addressed the situation in a recent Instagram post. She stated that family ties do not grant anyone the right to speak on behalf of a deceased person or access every detail of their life.
“Unfortunately, even in the most tragic circumstances, there are those who see an opportunity rather than a loss,” Blanchard wrote. She noted that she and Autumn had never maintained good terms, adding that Autumn had been openly opposed to their relationship from its inception despite repeated attempts by Blanchard to make peace.
According to Blanchard, Autumn had used social media livestreams to publicly criticize Ken for the past six months. She described watching Autumn speak to media outlets after his death as “deeply disturbing” and disrespectful to his memory, given how she had treated him while he was alive.
Blanchard claimed that during her final phone conversation with Ken, he confided that Autumn threatened to intensify her public criticism of him. She said she would never forget that discussion, noting it made the events following his death even more painful.
Blanchard and Ken first connected through pen-pal correspondence while she was incarcerated for her mother’s murder. The pair became engaged in October 2018 but briefly separated before reuniting in August 2019. They later went their separate ways for several years.
Blanchard subsequently married Ryan Anderson, but they separated in April 2024, four months after her December 2023 prison release. She reunited with Ken shortly after, and the couple welcomed their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, in December 2024.
