Joshua Jackson’s Ex Jodie Turner-Smith Sued Over Brother’s Misconduct

A legal dispute involving Joshua Jackson’s former partner, Jodie Turner-Smith, has emerged following the filing of a lawsuit against her and her brother, Richard Smith. The actress’s representative characterized the legal action as fictional and firmly denied any wrongdoing by Turner-Smith.

Lawsuit details and allegations

Three plaintiffs, identified only as Jane Does, submitted the complaint on Thursday, according to a report by TMZ. The accusations center on Richard Smith, whom the women claim invited them to gatherings involving narcotics, firearms, and sexual activity. Specific allegations include pressure to consume drugs and engage in sexual acts, with one plaintiff stating that housing at a Los Angeles residence was offered in exchange for sex.

The filings suggest Turner-Smith had knowledge of or involvement in these activities. One plaintiff claimed she later discovered Turner-Smith owned the property where the alleged exchanges occurred. Another accuser stated that Richard Smith asserted his sister was aware of his drug operations, used cocaine with him, and contributed financially to purchasing narcotics. This plaintiff also alleged Richard said Turner-Smith gifted him an Audi, which he purportedly used to transport packages containing illegal substances.

Legal claims and defense response

The lawsuit lists multiple causes of action against Richard Smith, including sexual battery, false imprisonment, emotional distress, and fraud. Additional claims involve hostile statements made about Black women and family members, as well as assertions that Richard considered himself “more talented than” his sister.

Turner-Smith faces distinct charges related to property negligence, negligence per se, child endangerment, and aiding and abetting. Her representative rejected all allegations, describing the case as “a fictional lawsuit filed by someone who has been harassing Jodie.” The spokesperson further labeled the proceedings “an abuse of the legal system” and disputed the number of accusers, suggesting a single individual may be presenting themselves as three separate Jane Does.

As of now, no court has validated the allegations, and the case remains unresolved while Turner-Smith continues to deny any improper conduct.
