Meghan Markle dined with royal wedding hair stylist George Northwood in London on October 14, ahead of a joint Nottingham visit.

A familiar face from the royal wedding reappeared alongside Meghan Markle during her recent time in London. On Wednesday, October 14, the former actress was seen having lunch with George Northwood, the hairstylist who managed her look for the evening reception at her wedding to Prince Harry. This meeting occurred before any official public appearance by Markle since she relocated to the United Kingdom with her family.
Photographs captured by HELLO! magazine show the pair dining at The Park restaurant, located near Kensington Palace. This venue holds personal significance as the residence shared by Markle and Harry during their engagement and early marriage. Markle dressed in a black tuxedo blazer from Marks & Spencer, paired with heels by Jennifer Chamandi.
Northwood’s professional relationship with Markle extends beyond the wedding day. He accompanied her on various international tours while she served as a working royal member. Since returning to the UK with Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the Duchess of Sussex has maintained a low profile. Reports indicate her primary focus has been assisting the children in adjusting to their new home and school environment.
The private lunch took place one day prior to a scheduled joint official outing with Prince Harry on Thursday, October 15. The couple is set to travel to Nottingham for multiple charity engagements. Their plans include a visit to the Community Recording Studio. Additionally, Markle reportedly intends to reconnect with women associated with London’s Hubb Community Kitchen.
Nottingham carries historical weight for the Sussexes, marking the location of their first official appearance following the announcement of their engagement in 2017. The upcoming trip signals a shift in their public activity level after a period of relative seclusion.
A source close to the couple spoke to PEOPLE in a report published on October 13 regarding Markle’s gradual return to public view. “After they first arrived in England, their focus was on establishing a routine and getting the kids settled into school,” the source stated. They added that both are now eager to concentrate on their work and meaningful projects.
The source described their current weekly structure: “During the week, while the kids are in school, they’re working. They’re enjoying family weekends together.” This arrangement suggests a balance between professional duties and private family time as they resume their public roles.
