Musk reportedly sought permission from Donald Trump, who approved the stay, but Melania Trump expressed opposition to the idea.

Despite Melania Trump's objections, Musk was ultimately allowed to stay in the Lincoln Bedroom, a ceremonial guest room reserved for distinguished visitors and presidential guests.
