Musk claims SpaceX could outvalue entire global economy
SpaceX founder Elon Musk stated the company could become worth more than the total Earth economy, citing a path to orders-of-magnitude growth.

Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX, has asserted that his aerospace and spaceflight enterprise possesses the potential to surpass the value of the entire global economy. Writing on the social media platform X, Musk described a trajectory where the company’s valuation exceeds the current aggregate economic output of Earth.
"This will sound super crazy, but I see a path to SpaceX being worth orders of magnitude more than the current Earth economy," Musk posted. He characterized the gap between his company’s future value and the world’s total economy as "huge."
Contextualizing the Global Economic Baseline
The scale of this projection is anchored in recent financial data. According to World Bank figures, the global gross product stood at slightly over 118 trillion dollars in 2025. Musk did not disclose the specific methods or strategies he intends to employ to achieve such a monumental valuation target.
SpaceX Valuation and Market Performance
SpaceX currently represents the most significant asset within Musk’s personal wealth portfolio. The company conducted an initial public offering in June, raising approximately 86 billion dollars in what was recorded as the largest listing in history.
Following a strong opening performance, the stock experienced a sharp decline during the summer months. However, the share price has recently recovered from that downturn.
