At least one song by Keith Urban — “Once In A Lifetime” — is now off-limits at Nicole Kidman’s public appearances, according to a source close to the actress who spoke with New Idea. The restriction follows the finalization of her divorce from Urban in January 2026, ending their 19-year marriage.

The source explained that Kidman avoids hearing Urban’s music in front of cameras, particularly tracks tied to their shared history. “She doesn’t want to be out in front of the cameras when someone plays one of his songs – especially one like Once In A Lifetime,” the source stated. They added that certain songs evoke strong emotional reactions for her, and that repeated playback over nearly two decades in their home has led to a desire for musical change — both in soundtracks and life partners.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban first met at a Los Angeles event in 2005 and married in 2006. Reports of their separation emerged in September 2025. Their divorce was finalized in January 2026.

Podcast remarks fuel speculation

Rumors intensified after Kidman’s appearance on the Therapuss podcast with Sandra Bullock. When host Jake Shane asked what they would do if they secretly disliked their boyfriend’s music, Bullock emphasized shared taste. Kidman responded: “You have the right to make any music you want,” then added, “Find something you like in it! Give him a compliment. Something! Give him a bone!” Her reply went viral, prompting widespread interpretation as a veiled reference to Urban’s work.

Friends of Kidman dispute the notion that the ban reflects personal dislike of Urban’s music. They attribute the reports instead to misreading of her podcast comments.

Kidman and Urban share two biological daughters: Sunday Rose Kidman Urban and Faith Margaret Kidman Urban. Kidman also has two older children — Isabella and Connor — from her prior marriage to Tom Cruise. It has been one year since the couple ended their marriage.
