Olivia Wilde Reflects on Her Relationship with Harry Styles on Podcast
Olivia Wilde discusses her past relationship with Harry Styles, describing it as sweet and private despite public scrutiny.

On the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Olivia Wilde addressed the intense public reaction to her relationship with Harry Styles, which began during the filming of “Don’t Worry Darling.”
Wilde acknowledged the widespread upset surrounding their romance, stating, “Oh, man. I don’t know, it really did upset people, though. It was crazy. I don’t know how much I understand it yet.” She suggested that the backlash was connected to longstanding societal attitudes toward women, adding, “It’s something that we’ve done to women for a long time.”

She also noted that much of the response was influenced by Styles’ dedicated fanbase. “It also had a lot to do with the personal relationship people had with him,” Wilde said. “He carries it with grace. I think that’s an enormous responsibility that all of those stars have to carry.”
Despite the public turmoil, Wilde described their nearly two-year relationship as “the loveliest,” characterizing it as “so so sweet and so beautiful and really, actually domestic and kind and lovely.” She emphasized that they were able to maintain a private space away from the headlines.
Relationship Beginnings and Public Scrutiny
The couple’s relationship started in 2021 after meeting on the set of “Don’t Worry Darling.” Their romance drew attention because of their 10-year age difference and the timing following Wilde’s separation from Jason Sudeikis.
Reflecting on the period surrounding the film, Wilde described the experience as “f–king bananas” and admitted feeling disconnected from the public portrayal of her life. “There was all this public madness, but my private life was very far from it,” she explained.
Looking Back with Gratitude
Although Wilde and Styles ended their relationship in late 2022, she now looks back on it with appreciation rather than regret. She mentioned to Cooper that their happiness sometimes seemed to provoke more frustration among critics than anything else.
