A Photo of Fairuz Sparks Controversy; Reema al-Rahbani Reveals the Details

Over the past few days, a photo claimed to be Fairuz's latest appearance spread across social media platforms, receiving extensive engagement from followers.

However, it later became clear that the image was artificially generated using artificial intelligence and not an authentic appearance by the Lebanese artist.

The circulating image reached Fairuz's daughter, Reema al-Rahbani, who decided to clarify the truth behind what is being shared, warning against accounts using false images and attributing them to her mother.

Reema al-Rahbani responds to the Fairuz photo

Reema al-Rahbani shared on her Facebook page a comment she received from a follower, pointing out an Instagram account named after Fairuz that posts the AI-generated image as if it were genuine.

The follower wrote to Reema: "Reema, check this Instagram account named Fairuz—this AI-generated image of the lady Fairuz is posted there, falsely claiming it's real. See the deception!"

Reema al-Rahbani responded to the post, explaining why she removed the comment, stating: "I apologize, but I deleted your comment because I don’t want any fake or AI-generated images on my page."

She spoke about her stance on such images, saying: "Frankly, I deliberately avoid looking at anything artificially created until someone is imprisoned for tampering with anything, and those who believe such images despite knowing I don’t control everything and nothing appears without my approval—may God protect me!"

She added: "As for the timing of the news and the image, it’s clearly intentional—it’s meant to distract from Reema’s story and to present the full truth without makeup or embellishment? I know these stories well; I’ve kept them safe."

In her original post, Reema al-Rahbani mentioned that while sipping her coffee, she was browsing news websites and noticed, as she stated, a coincidence in the simultaneous publication of two stories, along with a change in her mother’s name followed by the addition of 'Fairuz' later.

Reema considered what happened no accident, but rather deliberate, and spoke sharply about individuals she described as operating "under the table," accusing them of spreading "poison, hatred, and resentment."

She affirmed that she will not remain silent toward anyone approaching a member of the Assi al-Rahbani family, and that she will confront what she described as an attack on her family, issuing a clear warning to those who intentionally carry out such actions.
