A phone call at 7:30 a.m. prompted Taylor Swift to label the situation “f–ked up,” according to Travis Kelce. The NFL player recounted how his older brother, Jason, woke them both to request assistance with a fitness routine.

The Early Morning Call

During an episode of the New Heights podcast, Travis described Jason’s unusual timing. The former center was participating in “Squatober” and had not yet met his daily squat goal. He called Travis to ask about available weights before heading to the couple’s residence.

Travis initially felt concern when the phone rang so early. He feared Jason might require medical attention due to the unexpected hour. However, upon answering, Jason simply asked, “Hey, can you come spot me?” (via New York Post).

Workout Logistics

Jason wanted to complete his challenge using a bench press rather than a back squat. Travis noted that his own wrapped ankle would have prevented him from assisting with a heavy barbell lift anyway. Fortunately, the bench setup allowed for easier spotting.

To ensure he could finish the workout, Jason traveled with two 25-pound weight plates on his flight. Travis found this detail amusing, calling it “the most meathead thing I’ve ever seen Jason do.”

Swift’s Reaction

As Travis walked out of the room to help his brother, Swift commented on the disruption. She stated, “This is f–ked up.” Travis responded casually, telling her, “Nah, it’ll be good.”

The brothers laughed as Travis retold the story. He recalled saying to Jason, “Oh, alright, cool, because I wouldn’t have been able to save you if it was a f–kin’ back squat. No, alright cool, I’ll come down.”

Travis and Swift married in July 2026 at Madison Square Garden.
