What lesson did Jennifer Lopez learn from her health scare?
Jennifer Lopez recounted a hospital scare caused by exhaustion after working 98 consecutive days while filming and recording music.

Jennifer Lopez experienced a hospital scare triggered by exhaustion amid a demanding work schedule, which she described as a wake-up call about the pressures of fame and the importance of rest. The actress and singer recounted working nonstop for 98 days while simultaneously filming the movie “Enough” and recording her second album, “J.Lo.”
Jennifer Lopez Details Health Scare During Heavy Workload
On the podcast “SmartLess,” Jennifer Lopez shared that after completing four movies consecutively, she was filming “Enough” and recording music daily. She described entering the studio at night following long days on set and spending weekends on promotional activities such as junkets and video shoots. Lopez emphasized that she had not taken a single day off during this period of 98 continuous days.
The health scare occurred on set when Lopez’s heart started racing before she left for a scene. She mentioned telling a young co-star that she felt tired but admitted she was not actually alright. After returning to her trailer, she suddenly lost clear vision and was unable to move. She alerted her assistant, Arlene, saying, “I can’t move. I can’t see,” to which her assistant responded, “Stop it, Jennifer, you’re scaring me.” They proceeded to the hospital, where Lopez asked if she was going crazy. The doctor reassured her, stating, “No. You’re not crazy.”
The Impact of Fame and Changes in Personal Life
The doctor explained that Lopez’s body had effectively “shut down” due to exhaustion. Lopez also recounted a separate incident involving the pressures of fame, recalling a moment before an audition when she initially panicked after being recognized by fans from her role in “Selena.” She reflected on the permanence of fame, stating, “You can’t get that back,” and described anonymity as something that “lasts forever” once lost. This experience influenced how she manages her public life, leading to carefully planned trips and maintaining a small personal circle.
