12kg Gold and Millions Vanish From Egyptian Jeweler’s Shop
A jeweler in Egypt reported the theft of 12 kilograms of gold and 5 million Egyptian pounds, with a worker missing.

A staggering theft has hit a jewelry shop in Egypt, with 12 kilograms of gold and 5 million Egyptian pounds disappearing without a trace. The owner, an Egyptian-Italian national, made the discovery during a routine inventory check, noticing an abnormal deficit in both the precious metal and cash.
The jeweler recounted that he found the gold ornaments and the large sum of money missing while conducting a standard audit of the shop's contents. After attempting to trace the cause and reviewing the previous day's operations, he uncovered another shocking detail: one of his workers had vanished suddenly, without any notice or communication. This immediately raised suspicions that the employee had stolen the fortune and fled.
Desperate for answers, the shop owner approached the worker's family, hoping for a lead. Instead, he received another blow: the worker had been missing for days, and the family had already filed a police report about his disappearance. This revelation deepened the mystery and complexity of the case.
The jeweler then filed a formal complaint at the Al-Talbiya police station, where his shop is located. The report was backed by inventory details and security camera footage, which showed the worker leaving the shop normally before vanishing immediately after the incident.
Security authorities have launched preliminary investigations, including analyzing surveillance footage and tracking the missing worker's movements. The public prosecutor has ordered his swift arrest and brought in, while intensifying efforts to trace his path and uncover the circumstances of the crime, in an attempt to recover the stolen goods that evaporated in moments.
