Joni Lamb, who co-founded the Daystar Television Network and grew it into a global Christian broadcasting powerhouse, has died at age 65.

Joni Lamb, the co-founder and chairwoman of the Daystar Television Network, passed away on Thursday at the age of 65. Alongside her late husband, she built the network into one of the world's largest Christian television broadcasters, reaching more than 200 countries.
The network announced her death in a statement, revealing that Lamb had been battling serious health issues before a back injury worsened her condition. The cause of death was not disclosed.
"Joni's love for the Lord and for the people we serve is what shaped this ministry from the very beginning," the network's board of directors said in a statement. Daystar confirmed that its operations will continue, noting that Lamb had ensured a leadership team was in place to carry on her work.
Joni and her husband, Marcus Lamb, who died in 2021, launched their broadcast from a single station in the Dallas area in 1993. Five years later, Joni began hosting her own popular daily program aimed at women.
Headquartered in Bedford, Texas, Daystar Television Network expanded its broadcast to over 200 countries, featuring programming from well-known evangelists including Joel Osteen and T.D. Jakes. The network says it reaches 2.3 billion households worldwide. Its ministry is rooted in the Pentecostal tradition, a Christian denomination known for its spirit-filled worship, belief in modern-day miracles, and daily spiritual warfare against evil influences.
Beyond her executive role behind the scenes, Lamb was a familiar on-air presence, hosting "Joni Table Talk," where she discussed everyday issues.
In 2010, Joni stood by her husband when he publicly confessed on television to having had an affair with another woman years earlier. Marcus Lamb also alleged at the time that three individuals had attempted to extort money from him in exchange for their silence.
Joni said at the time that learning of his infidelity left her shattered, and she prayed to the Holy Spirit, who she said told her: "He is worth fighting for." The couple stated they healed their marriage and had hoped to keep the matter private.
After Marcus Lamb's death at age 64, Joni remarried two years later to Doug Weiss. Together, they co-hosted the program "Ministry Now."
