Video shows bull trampling rider at Mexican jaripeo event

A young rider is fighting for his life after being trampled by a bucking bull during a traditional Mexican jaripeo event. The incident, which was captured on video, occurred as part of annual celebrations honoring the Holy Cross. The rider, whose identity has not been released, is reportedly a member of the Tierra Sagrada ranch.

Shocking footage shows the large animal being prepared while tied to railings that separate the arena from dozens of spectators. A man was seen climbing onto the railing before lowering himself onto the bull's back. Seconds later, he slipped, became tangled in a rope, and ended up dangling by one leg as his face was dragged through the sand.

The MC could be heard shouting "help him" over the speaker system as the bull repeatedly trampled the rider. By the time help arrived, the young man was lying motionless on the ground. Several men lifted him and rushed him out of the arena to receive medical treatment.

The rider was taken to a nearby hospital, where he reportedly remains in critical condition with a guarded prognosis.
