Ali Mubarak Al-Hajri, son of Qatari businessman Mubarak Al-Hajri and stepson of singer Ahlam, died at age 33 from sudden cardiac death.

Ali Mubarak Muhammad Fahed Al-Hajri, the 33-year-old son of Qatari businessman Mubarak Al-Hajri and stepson of Emirati artist Ahlam Al-Shamsi, has passed away. Sources close to the family confirmed that he died during his sleep due to Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD).
The condition differs from standard heart attacks and typically affects individuals between the ages of 12 and 35. It results from a genetic defect impacting the heart's electrical system, causing ventricular fibrillation. This arrhythmia stops blood flow to the brain and vital organs, leading to unconsciousness and death within seconds unless the patient receives cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and an electric shock via a defibrillator.
Prayers for the deceased are scheduled for Sunday afternoon after Asr prayer at the Mesaimeer Cemetery in Qatar. Male mourners will be received starting this evening after Maghrib prayer in the Dafna area. Ali was the brother of Mohammed and Fahed.
Ahlam Al-Shamsi expressed her profound grief over the loss of the young man through a post on the social media platform X. "May God have mercy on you, dear Ali; I ask God to compensate your youth in Paradise," she wrote, adding "To God we belong."
