Australia's Agriculture Minister confirms the first H5N1 bird flu infection found in a bird on the southern coast near Perth.

Australia's Agriculture Minister, Julie Collins, confirmed the detection of the first case of bird flu caused by the H5N1 strain in a southern region of the country.
Collins stated that tests verified the infection in a bird discovered on a beach approximately 700 kilometers southeast of Perth, the capital of Western Australia.
Authorities had announced on Friday that examinations confirmed the presence of bird flu in a migratory seabird found within Cape Le Grand National Park in the state.
