Just Engaged! New Couple Among Victims of Fatal Night-Time Accident
Four people, including a couple engaged just days prior, died in a head-on crash on the Çorum-İskilip highway.

A head-on collision between a car and an SUV on the Çorum-İskilip highway claimed four lives and left one person critically injured. The incident occurred at 00:30 in the Ceritbeli area, involving vehicles driven by Zehra Betül Yılmaz and Mert Üstünel.

The Fatal Crash Details
Zehra Betül Yılmaz was operating the 19 AHJ 649 registered automobile when it collided directly with the 19 DR 008 SUV driven by Mert Üstünel. Emergency services, including fire, health, and gendarmerie teams, were dispatched to the scene following reports from nearby residents.

Initial checks by medical personnel at the site confirmed that both drivers, Yılmaz and Üstünel, along with Hüsra Lal who was inside the automobile, had died instantly. Their bodies remained at the location of the impact.
Hospital Deaths and Injuries
Ömer Cebeci and Münevver Lal were extracted from the wreckage with severe injuries. After initial treatment by emergency crews, they were transported to Hitit University Erol Olçok Training and Research Hospital.
Despite extensive medical intervention, Ömer Cebeci succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Authorities reported that Münevver Lal remains under treatment with her life-threatening condition continuing. The total death toll rose to four with Cebeci’s passing.
Tragic Engagement Revelation
A heartbreaking detail emerged regarding two of the victims, Zehra Betül Yılmaz and Ömer Cebeci. It was learned that the pair had become engaged only a few days before the accident, specifically on Monday.
The bodies of the four deceased individuals were transferred to the hospital morgue. A broad investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision on the highway.
