DreamWorks Animation has released the trailer for its upcoming original film, Forgotten Island, scheduled for theatrical release on September 25, 2026.
The animated feature is created by the team behind Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and stars Grammy and Academy Award winner H.E.R. alongside Liza Soberano. They voice Jo and Raissa, two best friends since grade school who are about to embark on separate futures but share one final night together before a magical event changes their course.
The preview reveals Nakali, a mysterious island where Jo and Raissa arrive after discovering a portal. This enchanted setting includes magical and mythological beings drawn from Filipino folklore, reflecting the stories from their families.
Their journey turns perilous upon meeting The Dreaded Manananggal, voiced by Tony Award winner Lea Salonga. With assistance from Raww, a friendly weredog voiced by Dave Franco, and other new companions, the duo must navigate challenges to return home before their memories of friendship vanish.
Additional voice actors featured in the film include Jenny Slate, Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, and Ronny Chieng.
