The item, described as being in “very good to excellent condition,” featured a silicon-controlled rectifier demonstration, two experimental circuits, and a 10-page report.
Provenance and family history
According to RR Auction, the project remained at the famed “Apple Garage” for decades after Jobs’ family retained possession of it. Jobs’ half-brother, John Schaffanick, stated that Jobs repeatedly declined to reclaim the project, ultimately allowing Schaffanick to keep it.

The project was part of RR Auction’s “Steve Jobs and the Computer Revolution: Apple’s 50th Anniversary Sale, Part II.” As reported by 9to5mac, the auction concluded with this item fetching $34,375.

This second installment of the Apple anniversary auction featured approximately 150 rare items related to Apple and computing history. Among them were a signed Steve Jobs business card, sold for $156,658; a personal collection of electronic components owned by Jobs, sold for $27,188; and a 1983 letter in which Jobs declined an invitation to deliver a speech, sold for $24,695.

The highest-priced item in the auction was a fully functional Apple-1 computer from the second production run—of which 50 units were built—which sold for $499,363.
