Two Suspects Sought After Armed Robbery at Exchange Firm in Hammamet

Tunisian security forces have opened an urgent investigation into an armed robbery targeting a currency exchange company in the tourist city of Hammamet, located in Nabeul Governorate. The incident triggered widespread shock and public reaction across Tunisia, with video footage of the crime rapidly circulating on social media platforms.

Initial Investigation Points to Two Suspects

According to an unnamed security source, preliminary investigative leads indicate that at least two individuals were involved in both planning and carrying out the attack. The perpetrators began their operation by launching a brutal assault on a taxi driver. They restrained him and confined him inside the trunk of the vehicle, which they then used to execute the robbery and flee the city before abandoning both the car and its driver. Authorities later located the driver, who was found unharmed.

Security camera footage recorded the violent intrusion into the exchange company’s premises. One attacker jumped over barriers upon entering and brandished a knife. He then physically assaulted an employee, knocking him to the ground before stabbing him repeatedly.
