A 29-year-old woman fell from a hotel sign in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district, breaking her wrist after staying two days with two men.
Deniz Ece Y., aged 29, sustained a broken wrist after falling from the exterior signage of a hotel in Istanbul’s Beyoğlu district. The incident occurred on Thursday, October 15, at approximately 15:00 local time within Şehit Muhtar Mahallesi. She had been sharing an accommodation room for two days with Hakan B., 61, and M.F.K., 17.
According to information gathered, Deniz Ece Y. exited through the window of her hotel room and climbed onto the building’s external sign. While positioned there, she struggled to maintain her grip and shouted for assistance, specifically asking, "Help, is there no police?" Her distress calls were captured on mobile phone cameras by bystanders in the vicinity.
Security camera footage recorded the moment she subsequently fell from the sign to the ground below. Emergency services, including police and medical teams, arrived at the scene following reports of the fall. First responders determined that her wrist was fractured during the impact. She remained conscious throughout the initial treatment.
Hakan B. and M.F.K. provided statements to police regarding the events leading up to the fall. They claimed that Deniz Ece Y. left the room via the window using her own means around 15:00. According to their account, she moved onto the hotel sign and later dropped herself from that position.
The specific reason why Deniz Ece Y. exited the window and requested help remains unclear. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Following first aid, she was transported by ambulance to Taksim Training and Research Hospital for further medical care.
