China to Produce Over 100,000 Human-Like Robots in 2026
China plans to manufacture more than 100,000 human-like robots in 2026, driven by AI advancements and increased industrial adoption.

China is preparing for a significant advancement in robotics, with projections indicating the production of over 100,000 human-like robots during 2026. This growth is supported by a surge in artificial intelligence and increased investments.
The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology forecasted that the output of human-like robots will exceed 100,000 units this year. The ministry highlighted that the expansion of AI applications has contributed to the sector's prosperity, noting that the adoption rate of AI technologies among large industrial companies has surpassed 30%.
China will showcase its latest innovations at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai, scheduled from July 17 to 20. The event will feature participation from over 1,100 entities and display more than 3,000 products, including over 300 innovations being unveiled globally for the first time.
Regarding exports, the value of Chinese robot exports reached 20 billion yuan (3 billion US dollars) during the first five months of 2026. A total of 10.37 million units were shipped to more than 150 countries and regions, with cleaning robots accounting for over 70% of the export value.
