Google Search Console Adds Tracking for Traffic to Social Media Accounts
Google Search Console now enables tracking of traffic directed from Search to social media platforms including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter/X.

Google Search Console has introduced a new feature that allows users to monitor traffic flowing from Google Search to their social media accounts on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter/X.
This update introduces a new property type within Search Console designed to track outbound traffic from Search to individual social profiles. The supported platforms include YouTube, Twitter/X, TikTok, and Instagram.
How Google Search Console Reports Traffic Data
The Performance report provides users with total clicks, impressions, and other relevant metrics. It also offers filtering and sorting options to identify which specific posts and search queries are generating the most traffic. Users have the option to export this data for use in other analytical tools.
The Insights report delivers a summarized view of recent traffic trends, highlights top-performing posts, and shows how users discover the social media accounts through Google Search.
Additionally, the Achievements feature tracks growth milestones, such as reaching new thresholds for total clicks originating from Google Search within the past 28 days.
Access and Availability
This feature is currently available and can be accessed starting from the Search Console verification page.
