The update also delivers horizontal swiping for Suggested Places, a dedicated Trending Restaurants section on the search screen, and a new Maps Parked Car widget integrated into the Apple Watch Smart Stack.

Enhanced Flyover with AI and Aerial Imagery

According to Apple’s official press release, the upgraded Flyover feature combines aerial imagery with artificial intelligence to render cityscapes in unprecedented detail. This enhanced capability is available for select cities worldwide. Apple states the feature supports both trip preparation and casual exploration, offering users “a sharper and more lifelike glimpse into destinations across the globe.”

Local Lists Launches in the U.S.

Also detailed in the same press release, Local Lists is now live for Apple Maps users in the United States. The feature surfaces curated collections of places based on intelligent insights drawn from trending activity. These include categories such as trending restaurants and family-friendly locations.
