Is the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ just a rebranded global Edge 70 Pro for India?
Motorola will release the Edge 70 Pro+ in India on June 4, though the global Edge 70 Pro model already includes its key features.

Motorola plans to introduce the Edge 70 Pro+ in India on June 4, presenting it as an enhanced version of the Edge 70 Pro. However, the global Edge 70 Pro, currently sold in the UK for £749.99, already incorporates the main upgrades the Pro+ offers. There is no confirmed release date for the Pro+ in the UK or US.
The Edge 70 Pro+ differentiates itself from the base model with three main changes, according to insider information: a periscope telephoto lens, wireless charging capability, and a new 16GB RAM variant. The expected price in India is below $525. Yet, the first two features—periscope telephoto camera and wireless charging—are already present in the global Edge 70 Pro.
GSMArena reports that the global Edge 70 Pro includes a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and supports 15W wireless charging, matching the specifications the Pro+ is promoting for the Indian market. Aside from these, the rest of the specifications remain identical to the standard Edge 70 Pro.
The device features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, brightness reaching up to 5,200 nits, and HDR10+ support. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The battery capacity is 6,500mAh, with wired charging at 90W.
Regarding design, the Pro+ is anticipated to be available in Satin Wine Red and a wood-finish option, in addition to the Pantone-certified colors—Zinfandel, Chicory Coffee, Lily White, and Titan—that are already offered globally. However, these new finishes have not been independently verified beyond the initial leak.
In the UK, the Edge 70 Pro is currently on sale for £749.99, with prices across Europe ranging from €799 to €899, as reported by Android Headlines. For consumers seeking a mid-range phone equipped with a periscope camera and wireless charging, the global Edge 70 Pro already meets these criteria.
The launch of the Pro+ in India effectively serves as a regional update, since the original model did not include these features in that market. It remains uncertain whether Motorola intends to release the Pro+ in Western markets or at what price point. The 16GB RAM option is unique to the Pro+ as the global model does not offer this configuration, which could be a key distinction if the device is marketed more broadly.
At this time, prospective buyers in the UK and US have no compelling reason to delay purchasing the Edge 70 Pro unless Motorola announces new developments for those regions.
