Specialized Launches Vado 3 X E-Bike Featuring Full Suspension for City Riding
Specialized has introduced the Vado 3 X electric bike series, offering full suspension and advanced digital features for enhanced urban commuting.

Specialized has released the Vado 3 X series, a new generation of electric bicycles designed to handle urban environments with full suspension systems. The lineup includes two models: the Vado 3 X 4.0 priced at $5500 (224,000 UAH) and the premium Vado 3 X 6.0 available for $8000 (326,000 UAH).
The key innovation in the Vado 3 X series is the adoption of full suspension, a departure from the previous Vado models that featured only suspension forks. This upgrade aims to smooth out rough city surfaces such as curbs and damaged asphalt, providing a riding experience akin to gliding regardless of road conditions. The new design blurs the line between traditional urban and mountain bikes.
Both versions incorporate the updated Specialized 3.1 electrical system, boasting a torque of 105 Nm and a peak power output of 810 W. This level of performance enables riders to ascend steep inclines with minimal pedaling effort. The bikes are equipped with an 840 Wh battery, which under optimal conditions supports a range of up to 150 km per charge. Additionally, riders can attach an external 280 Wh battery for extended city trips.
Specialized has integrated a comprehensive digital ecosystem into the Vado 3 X. A 2.2-inch MasterMind C4 touchscreen display is centrally positioned on the handlebars, complemented by a smartphone mount featuring wireless charging capabilities. The system connects via Bluetooth to a companion app, and Apple Watch users can view heart rate data directly on the bike’s screen, enabling a full workout experience during rides.
The Vado 3 X comes fully outfitted with practical accessories including protective fenders, a kickstand, a luggage rack, and built-in lighting. The front light produces 805 lumens and includes a high-beam function, which is essential for night riding in poorly lit areas. The bikes are offered in four glossy metallic colors, underscoring their premium positioning as urban off-roaders.
The technical development of the Vado 3 X reflects a balance between aesthetic design and functional engineering challenges, comparable to the design considerations faced during the creation of the BMW ALPINA’s shark nose, where retro styling posed significant obstacles for developers.
