A total of 105,794 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid vehicles are being recalled in the United States following a decision by the automaker to address a potential fire hazard. The Japanese manufacturer announced on October 21 that the recall covers specific versions of models produced between 2024 and 2027.

NHTSA identifies fuel leak issue

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated that the pipe connection near the fuel tank may disconnect. If this occurs, leaking fuel can come into contact with an ignition source, increasing the risk of a vehicle fire. Toyota noted that the defect could allow fuel to leak until the gasoline engine within the hybrid system shuts down.

Free repairs for affected owners

Owners of the impacted vehicles will be notified by mid-December 2026. Dealerships will inspect the fuel pipe connection and install an additional clamp to prevent it from coming loose. In cases where necessary, the resin fuel pipe will be replaced, and a new connection clamp will be mounted. All inspection and repair procedures will be performed at no cost to vehicle owners.

Recall scope and verification

The recall does not apply to all vehicles from the specified model years, but only to those within a defined production range. US customers can verify if their car is included by checking the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) through official Toyota or NHTSA inquiry systems. No information regarding a similar recall action in Turkey was shared alongside the US announcement.
