Erling Haaland Wins Best Goal in World Cup Round of 16
FIFA announced Erling Haaland's second goal against Brazil as the best in the 2026 World Cup Round of 16, receiving 34% of the votes.

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) revealed the best goal scored during the Round of 16 matches at the 2026 World Cup.
The Round of 16 phase concluded last Tuesday, with the quarter-final stage commencing on Thursday and ending early Sunday morning.
According to FIFA, Erling Haaland, the Norwegian star, earned the distinction for the best goal in the Round of 16 thanks to his second goal against Brazil, a match Brazil lost 2-1.
Haaland secured the highest share of votes at 34%, followed by Lionel Messi's goal for Argentina against Egypt with 25%, and then Moroccan player Azeddine Ounahi's goal against Canada with 16%.
This voting is part of the third stage in Hyundai's process to select the tournament's best goal. Fans were invited to vote for 48 hours after the first round of the tournament, with similar voting rounds conducted following the Round of 32 and Round of 16, then combined voting for the quarter-finals and semi-finals, culminating in a final vote at the competition's conclusion.
