Harry Kane Cleared of Yellow Card Risk Ahead of England's World Cup Quarter-Final
Harry Kane is not at risk of suspension for England's upcoming World Cup quarter-final after a yellow card was mistakenly attributed to him during the Mexico match.

Five England players were at risk of suspension following their match against Mexico at the Estadio Azteca, but the list has been reduced to four after Jordan Henderson's injury ruled him out of the tournament.
Contrary to initial reports, Harry Kane is not among the players who must avoid a yellow card in the upcoming quarter-final against Norway in Miami.
The confusion originated when Kane conceded a penalty for a high challenge on Mexico midfielder Brian Gutierrez during the second half. Referee Alireza Faghani awarded the penalty after consulting the VAR monitor and appeared to show a yellow card, with a graphic on the screen indicating it was given to Kane.
However, FIFA’s official website clarified that the yellow card issued in the 68th minute was actually given to Marc Guehi, revealing that the graphic attributing the card to Kane was incorrect.
This correction means Kane is not at risk of a one-match suspension for the next game.
Declan Rice, along with Marc Guehi, Jude Bellingham, and Nico O’Reilly, remain players who must be cautious to avoid suspension due to yellow card accumulation.
The current World Cup features an expanded format with 48 teams instead of 32, leading FIFA to revise its yellow card regulations. Unlike previous tournaments where two yellow cards before the semi-final resulted in an automatic one-game suspension, yellow cards are now reset twice: once after the group stage and again after the quarter-finals.
