According to the global website Transfermarkt, Mbappé’s starting role in the match against Senegal marked his 99th international appearance for France.
The 27-year-old Real Madrid forward continues his career to become one of the most capped players in the history of the French national team.
With this 99th match, Mbappé entered the top ten list of French players with the most appearances for the national team.
The top ten list features a selection of legends, led by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris with 145 international matches, followed closely by the solid defender Lilian Thuram in second place with 142 matches.
In third and fourth positions are striker Olivier Giroud and attacking star Antoine Griezmann, each with 137 appearances, followed by the dark-skinned gazelle Thierry Henry in fifth place with 123 matches.
In the latter half of the list, defender Marcel Desailly holds sixth place with 116 matches, ahead of legend Zinedine Zidane who played 108 international games and ranks seventh. Patrick Vieira is eighth with 107 matches, current French coach Didier Deschamps is ninth with 103 matches, and Mbappé concludes the top ten with 99 international appearances.
