The 2026 World Cup, hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, is nearing its conclusion with only two matches remaining.

The third-place playoff will feature France and England at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday, followed later that day by the final between an unnamed team and Argentina at MetLife Stadium.

Before the tournament began, FIFA increased the total prize money for participating teams to $871 million, marking a 15% rise compared to previous editions.

FIFA also raised preparation allowances from $1.5 million to $2.5 million and qualification bonuses from $9 million to $10 million. Additionally, over $16 million was allocated to support team delegation expenses and to increase ticket allocations.

According to Eurosport, the financial awards for the top four teams, excluding the guaranteed fixed revenues of $12.5 million for qualification and training expenses, are as follows:

  • Champion: $50 million
  • Runner-up: $33 million
  • Third place: $29 million
  • Fourth place: $27 million

Furthermore, FIFA has decided to award members of the winning team with rings engraved with a representation of the World Cup trophy and the tournament logo. The champions will also receive a bespoke set reflecting the team's identity and history, marking an unprecedented gesture.
