Iran's official television broadcast a report covering Donald Trump's son, Baron Trump, discussing attempts to reach him and referencing a $10 million financial reward, in a rare public threat targeting one of the U.S. president's family members.

The report lasted about three minutes and used footage and graphics mimicking surveillance and cyber activity, alongside displaying websites and platforms claimed to be linked to efforts to identify access routes to Baron, mapping out a network of connections around him, as well as depicting attempts to bypass security measures provided by the Secret Service, according to the website "Iran International".

The broadcast comes amid a long history of Iranian threats against Trump and current and former U.S. officials, but targeting a member of his family represents a notable escalation in Iran's associated media rhetoric.

U.S. authorities previously accused individuals or those linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard of plotting attacks against former U.S. officials, as part of threats Washington said were tied to retaliation for the killing of Qasem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force, in 2020.

Trump had previously faced threats and assassination attempts attributed to Iran, with calls for revenge intensifying after the outbreak of war on February 28, following the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several senior military and political officials in U.S. and Israeli strikes.
