Arab-Islamic Foreign Ministers Condemn Israeli Violations in Gaza

Foreign ministers from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt issued a joint statement strongly condemning and rejecting ongoing Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip. They specifically cited repeated targeting of medical facilities and infrastructure, assaults on civilian infrastructure, and the continued killing of civilians—including women and children—as grave breaches of international law, including international humanitarian law.

Violation of International Obligations and Ceasefire Plan

According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the ministers stated that Israel’s continued violations constitute a clear breach of its obligations under international law and the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza. They warned that such actions undermine international and regional efforts to implement the plan’s second phase—particularly following U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement that Palestinian factions had accepted the road map, including provisions on weapons containment. The ministers said these violations threaten to derail the political track, reignite escalation cycles, and deepen the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza.

Legal Duties to Protect Civilians and Aid Access

The ministers emphasized that protecting civilians, safeguarding medical facilities and personnel in the health and humanitarian sectors, and ensuring immediate, safe, and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid, medical supplies, and relief assistance across Gaza are binding legal obligations—non-derogable under any circumstances.

Settlement Expansion and Jerusalem Measures as Part of Coordinated Policy

They further stressed that Israel’s ongoing violations in Gaza cannot be viewed in isolation from settler violence in the West Bank, illegal settlement expansion, and unilateral measures aimed at altering the status quo in Jerusalem. Collectively, these practices constitute a systematic policy designed to impose a new reality by force, erode the foundations of the two-state solution, and marginalize the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people—in flagrant violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

Call for Security Council Action and Accountability

The ministers renewed their call on the international community—and especially the UN Security Council—to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by taking practical and effective measures to compel Israel’s compliance with its obligations under international law, including international humanitarian law and UN Security Council Resolution 2803. They demanded accountability for those responsible for serious violations, to protect civilians, preserve prospects for completing implementation of the agreement, and achieve a permanent ceasefire.

Rejection of Annexation, Sovereignty Claims, and Forced Displacement

The ministers affirmed their countries’ categorical rejection of any attempts to annex Palestinian territory, impose Israeli sovereignty over it, or forcibly displace the Palestinian people. They reiterated that the sole path to achieving just and comprehensive peace lies in launching a serious political process leading to the realization of the two-state solution—ensuring an independent, sovereign Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
