The ship tracking platform MarineTraffic reported an armed attack on the bulk carrier Lady Naima south of Hodeidah port off the coast of Yemen, renewing navigational warnings in the southern Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

According to MarineTraffic data, the Palau-flagged cargo vessel Lady Naima, measuring 137 meters in length, was assaulted by unidentified armed attackers at 07:19 GMT on July 5.

The incident occurred approximately 30 nautical miles southwest of the Yemeni city of Hodeidah, leading to the reissuance of maritime warnings for vessels transiting the southern Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

Despite the attack, the bulk carrier continued its voyage, with MarineTraffic tracking it passing through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait at 17:03 GMT and entering the Gulf of Aden at 20:28 on the same day. The vessel is currently moving at 13.8 knots in the Gulf of Aden, heading toward the port of Kandla in India.

It is notable that the Lady Naima is sailing without cargo (in ballast condition), has a draft of 5.1 meters, and is expected to arrive at its final destination on July 12.
