Syrian security forces arrested the executive arm of the terrorist organization "ISIS" in the city of Homs, named Khalid Raed Birouni, nicknamed "Abu Hassan Dushka."

This came during a security operation carried out in the town of Hajira in the countryside of Damascus, in cooperation between the General Intelligence Directorate and the Internal Security Command in the Rif Dimashq Governorate, according to a statement by the Syrian Ministry of Interior.

The statement, published by the ministry on its official page on "Facebook," indicated that "according to security data and ongoing investigations, the detainee held the position of the organization's general military officer in (Homs Province)."

It mentioned that "Abu Hassan Dushka" "undertook planning and supervising the execution of a number of terrorist acts in the city, including preparing and using explosive devices, and carrying out attacks with a sectarian character."

The ministry's statement noted that the detainee was "responsible for the explosion targeting Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque in the Wadi al-Dhahab neighborhood in the city of Homs, in December of last year."

The ministry affirmed in its statement that "the competent authorities continue their investigations with the detainee to reveal details of his activity, and to complete legal procedures against him."
