Attacks Halt Operations at Energy Facilities in Southern Saudi Arabia

Saudi Ministry of Energy announced that several energy sector facilities in the southern region of the kingdom were targeted early Tuesday morning.

According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), a senior official in the ministry stated that concerned authorities have begun handling the incident and taking necessary measures.

The official explained that the attacks triggered fires at multiple sites, leading to a temporary halt in certain operations, while specialized field teams have launched efforts to contain the fires, secure the sites, and assess damages.

The source added that the attacks resulted in injuries to several citizens and residents of varying severity, with medical care being provided to the affected individuals, while assessment and monitoring efforts continue.

The official emphasized that concerned authorities are actively managing the aftermath of the attacks, implementing necessary actions to ensure facility safety, personnel security, and continuity of operations according to approved operational plans.

Earlier, Colonel Turki Al-Maliki, the official spokesperson for the Coalition (Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen), affirmed that "the escalation by the Houthi terrorist militia and its attempts to target the Kingdom, its national capabilities, citizens, and residents on its soil represent a dangerous escalation that underscores the hostile and irresponsible stance of this terrorist militia," as reported by SPA.

Colonel Al-Maliki further clarified that "the senseless attacks by the Houthi terrorist militia, including the latest targeting of civilian and economic landmarks in cities such as Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran—resulting in 73 civilian casualties, including women and children—are blatant violations of the Kingdom's sovereignty and direct threats to the security and safety of its citizens and residents."
