Authorities Evacuate 300 in Sarcelles Near Paris Over Threat to Jewish Community
French authorities evacuated approximately 300 people in Sarcelles near Paris following suspicion of a planned attack targeting the Jewish community.

On Saturday evening, around 300 individuals were evacuated from the municipality of Sarcelles, located in the northern suburbs of Paris, after authorities suspected a planned assault aimed at the local Jewish community, according to Europe 1 radio station.
The radio station reported, "In Sarcelles, 300 people were evacuated due to a threat of an attack on the Jewish community in that area."
Details from the report indicated that the evacuation took place near a cinema and a restaurant. Authorities discovered a vehicle parked close by containing a rifle and a pistol.
Media sources stated that the French counterintelligence agency specifically identified the suspicious vehicle. Police sources confirmed that the car found on Henri Dunant Street was stolen and flagged as a vehicle of concern.
The investigation remains ongoing. The National Counterterrorism Prosecutor's Office (PNAT) has not yet officially taken over the case and is awaiting initial intelligence findings. The French Interior Minister stated that security services have not yet identified those responsible for parking the vehicle, and no suspects have been arrested so far.
Europe 1 credited the General Directorate for Internal Security (DGSI), the counterintelligence agency, for thwarting the plot. The DGSI had previously placed a tracking and warning marker on the vehicle due to suspicions that it might be used in a suspicious operation against the community.
Sarcelles is known in France as "Little Jerusalem" because it hosts one of the largest Sephardic Jewish communities in the Paris suburbs, with a population estimated between 12,000 and 15,000 Jews. The area has a long and sensitive history of security tensions, having experienced several notable incidents and attacks targeting the Jewish community and its institutions over the past two decades.
