Dawn of Yemen: Government Forces Seize Bab el-Mandeb and Mayoun Island
Yemeni government forces secured a major victory in the 'Dawn of Yemen' operation by clearing the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait and Mayoun Island from Houthi control.

The "Dawn of Yemen" military operation achieved a new victory on its fifth day yesterday, as government forces cleared the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the strategic Mayoun Island, and surrounding highlands of Houthi presence, a development that strengthens their gains along the western coast.
Military sources stated that the Giants Brigades and National Shield forces, with air support from the coalition backing legitimacy, firmly controlled the strait, Al-Ardhi Camp, and Coast Guard observation points, in addition to Mayoun Island and the mountain ranges overlooking the international shipping lane.
They explained that the forces executed a surprise flanking maneuver, bypassing the Houthis' front defense lines and reaching their trenches and tunnels, resulting in the killing of dozens of group members and the surrender of others.
The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority had previously announced the martyrdom of three citizens and injuries to several people of various nationalities following two attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Thursday, which resulted in material damage.
The authority confirmed that work continues—in close integration and coordination with relevant security agencies—to assess damages and take all necessary measures, noting the resumption of operational activities at the airport and the return of air traffic to normal.
