France Pledges €3M Extra Aid for Yemen Crisis
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barro announced an additional €3 million in humanitarian aid for Yemen following renewed fighting and Houthi attacks.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barro has confirmed that France will provide an additional €3 million (equivalent to $3.36 million) to support the Yemeni population. This financial commitment comes in response to escalating combat across the country, which officials have described as causing a "humanitarian shock."
Barro's Address to Humanitarian Groups
Speaking before representatives of humanitarian organizations in Paris, Barro highlighted the specific impact of recent regional instability. He stated that Houthi attacks in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait had triggered this new wave of humanitarian distress.
The minister explained that the decision to allocate these funds was a direct response to the unfolding tragedy. By adding this sum to existing contributions, France aims to bolster its overall assistance framework for the affected population.
Total French Aid Reaches Over €7 Million
With the inclusion of the newly announced €3 million, the cumulative value of French aid directed toward the people of Yemen now exceeds €7 million for the year 2026. This figure represents the total scope of Paris’s current humanitarian engagement in the region.
