Unions representing students and teachers in France have called for a new strike next Tuesday to continue pressuring the government to increase education spending.

Unions representing students and teachers in France have called for a new strike next Tuesday to continue pressuring the government to increase education spending.
This comes amid weeks-long movements that include school closures and protests, according to "AFP".
In a joint statement on Saturday, unions including bodies representing teachers and students said, "Our movement is in a position of strength, while the government is in a position of weakness and has begun to yield," as they put it.
They added: "The time has come to expand the scope of protest actions and continue putting pressure on the government."
